Although most water heaters are set to 60°C—a temperature hot enough for water to be consumed immediately—it is not high enough to prevent the proliferation of bacteria present in the pipes. Furthermore, it should not be forgotten that the water you consume from the tap generally stagnates for a while in hot water tanks, which promotes bacterial growth.

Please note: most bacteria found in hot water tanks can cause pneumonia. We therefore advise you to always leave your mixer tap in the « cold » position.
